Interest
AI in industrial settings
We are interested in how AI can support the operation of technical plants at an energy company: in planning, maintenance and in handling knowledge and documents. There is deliberately no consulting or service offering on this.
Topics
- Engineering: When designing or modifying equipment such as pipelines, pumps or heat exchangers, AI can search standards and documents, sanity-check calculations and compare variants. The calculations themselves still rely on verified methods.
- Maintenance: Fault reports, shift logs and measurements reveal patterns, help narrow down causes faster and improve planning, moving towards condition-based maintenance instead of fixed intervals only.
- Knowledge management: Capture the experience of long-serving specialists before it is lost to retirement, and prepare it so it can be found at the plant, with sources.
- Documentation: Keep plant documentation, operating instructions and inspection records up to date, follow up on changes and surface contradictions between documents.
- Workflow automation: Automate recurring tasks such as reports, analyses or preparing work orders, with approval by the experts.
What matters
- Safety first: In energy supply, occupational safety and security of supply matter more than any time saved.
- Traceable: An AI suggestion needs a verifiable source, otherwise it is of no use in operations.
- People decide: AI prepares, the technical decision and approval remain with those responsible.
